The crash took place around 8:45 p.m. in Stamford on Sunday, Sept. 17 near Exit 8.
According to the Connecticut State Police, a tractor-trailer was traveling northbound in the right lane when an unidentified man crossing the highway was struck in the right lane.
The victim was transported to Stamford Hospital where he was pronounced dead, state police said.
Police are waiting for identification from the Connecticut Officer of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The tractor-trailer driver was not injured.
